Sample Deliverable
Multi-tenant readiness: a report excerpt
Part of the report from the complimentary on-premises to multi-tenant Cloud assessment, for a fictional agency. Every item is classified, checked and given a Cloud approach.
Illustrative sample. Sample City and every name, value and finding on this page are fictional.
Readiness analysis excerpt: Sample City, Infor O&R
This is an excerpt. A full report also contains: summary for decision makers, full inventory counts by module, security and roles review, data conversion notes, release testing plan, appendix with every formula result.
Workflows and business processes
Each application type is classified by what it needs before the move: keep as is, change, rebuild with a Cloud feature, redesign, or retire.
| Workflow | Description | Module | Outcome | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SC_BLDG_RES | Residential building permit | Permits | Keep as is | Standard milestones and inspections; no custom code. |
| SC_BLDG_COMM | Commercial building permit | Permits | Change | Plan review routing calls a custom DLL; move that logic into a Library formula. |
| SC_ROW | Right-of-way permit | Permits | Keep as is | Configuration only. |
| SC_FENCE | Fence permit | Permits | Retire | Four applications in three years; handle as residential minor work. |
| SC_CE_NUISANCE | Nuisance code case | Code Enforcement | Change | Only its aging condition formula changes (see formulas); the rest of the workflow moves as is. |
| SC_CE_VACANT | Vacant property registration | Code Enforcement | Rebuild with a Cloud feature | Renewal reminders come from a script on a city server; replace with a scheduled Batch Manager task. |
| SC_UB_NEWSVC | New water service | Utility Billing | Change | Deposit formula reads a table with direct SQL; rewrite with supported calls. |
| SC_UB_SHUTOFF | Shutoff for non-payment | Utility Billing | Redesign | Depends on an overnight job that updates statuses in the database; rebuild the status flow inside the workflow. |
Formulas and custom libraries
Every formula is checked against the multi-tenant rules: formulas run under an allow-list, with no direct database access and no server file system access, and custom DLLs are not deployed to the tenant.
| Formula | Type | Check result | Rule | Fix |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SC_FeeCalcResidential | Fee | Pass | None | None |
| SC_FeeCalcCommercial | Fee | Needs change | Custom DLLs are not deployed to the tenant | Move the valuation logic into a Library formula |
| SC_ValidateParcel | Validation | Pass | None | None |
| SC_CodeCaseAging | Workflow condition | Needs change | No direct database access | Use the supported data calls instead of its own SQL |
| SC_FeeReinspect | Fee | Pass | None | None |
| SC_WaterDepositCalc | Fee | Needs change | No direct database access | Read the rate from the fee schedule instead of a custom table |
| SC_ExportCaseFile | Workflow action | Blocked in Cloud | No server file system access | Replace with an ION file feed |
| SC_LibDateHelpers | Library | Pass | None | None |
Custom DLLs and other customizations
Custom DLLs, database objects, integrations and server scripts each get a supported Cloud approach. DLL logic is rebuilt as Library formulas.
| Item | Kind | Cloud approach |
|---|---|---|
| SC.Permits.PlanReview.dll | DLL | Rebuild the routing logic as a Library formula |
| SC.Fees.Valuation.dll | DLL | Rebuild as a Library formula used by SC_FeeCalcCommercial |
| vw_SC_CaseBacklog | Database object | Replace with a workspace widget over supported data |
| trg_SC_FeeAudit | Database object | Redesign: record the audit step in the workflow |
| Nightly payment import | Integration | ION file feed into the tenant |
| GIS address lookup | Integration | Call through the ION API Gateway |
| Vacant property reminders | Script | Scheduled Batch Manager task |
| Shutoff status job | Script | Retire once SC_UB_SHUTOFF is redesigned |
Reports
SSRS, Crystal and Ad Hoc reports are each mapped to a supported Cloud option, or retired when nobody uses them.
| Report | Today | Cloud option | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Permit card | Crystal | Back office report printed from O&R | Printed at the counter daily |
| Inspection results letter | SSRS | Back office report printed from O&R | Mailed to applicants |
| Code case aging | SSRS | Workspace widget | Supervisors want it on screen, not on paper |
| Shutoff notice list | SSRS | Workspace widget | Used each morning by field staff |
| Water account statement | Crystal | Back office report printed from O&R | Same layout as today |
| Monthly fee revenue | Ad Hoc | Infor Data Lake query | Needs O&R data published to Data Lake |
| Annual permits by type | Ad Hoc | Infor Data Lake query | Same data source as fee revenue |
| Contractor license history | Ad Hoc | Retire | Not run in two years |
